A few weekends ago I had the pleasure to attend the Croxfest on Croxley Green in north-west London. Now in it’s third year, the Croxfest is a free music festival which attracted over 7,000 visitors this year. Although the event is free, it is all for a good cause with donations collected for the Croxley Green Parish Council’s charities.
This year the event saw 10 bands taking to the stage from midday until the evening. With bands such as cover band Scandal, and a slightly eccentric performance by The Tuesday Club, I have to admit I was blown away by the original songs of Chasing Grace. With their first E.P. now available on iTunes, they are soon to go on tour with Ellie Goulding and I think they are a great band to watch out for in the future.
Ultimately I was there to support 70’s & 80’s Rock cover band DeLorean, who was headlining the festival. Closing the show with blistering sets combining all the favourites from the greatest periods in Rock history! Rocking along to the sound of Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Queen and more, it was a great and energetic climax to a fantastic day of music.
Thanks to organiser Stephen Crabtree – we are looking forward to Croxfest 2014!
